Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using GradLink ("the Platform," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

Important: By creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

To use GradLink, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Not use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Not be prohibited from using the Platform under applicable laws

Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password confidential and secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Account Types

GradLink offers two account types:

  • Student Accounts: For current students and those yet to graduate
  • Graduate Accounts: For professionals and graduated individuals

You must select the appropriate account type based on your graduation status.

Acceptable Use Policy

You May:

  • Create and maintain a professional profile
  • Post legitimate job opportunities
  • Connect with other students and graduates through our Network feature
  • Send and accept connection requests with personalized messages
  • Join and create Circles for shared interests and collaboration
  • Participate in Circle discussions and activities
  • Use the chat feature for professional networking
  • Share job postings through provided sharing features
  • View analytics for jobs you have posted
  • Customize email notification preferences in your settings

You May NOT:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent job listings
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content (except legitimate job posts)
  • Share obscene, offensive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to hack, interfere with, or disrupt the Platform
  • Scrape or collect user data without permission
  • Use automated systems or bots
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Violation of Terms: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

Job Postings

Posting Requirements

When posting a job, you must:

  • Ensure all information is accurate and truthful
  • Have authority to post the job opportunity
  • Include all relevant details (title, company, location, requirements)
  • Set realistic application deadlines
  • Respond to applicants in a timely manner

Content Rights

By posting a job, you grant GradLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your job posting on the Platform. You retain ownership of your content.

Job Analytics

Job posters can access analytics including views, likes, applications, and traffic sources. This data is provided to help you understand job post performance.

Chat and Messaging

Our chat feature is designed for professional networking and communication:

  • Messages are encrypted using industry-standard encryption
  • Users can see online status and message delivery/read receipts
  • We monitor chat for abuse and may review reported content
  • Inappropriate use of chat may result in account suspension
  • Messages are stored on our servers for service functionality

GradPoints System

GradPoints is an engagement-based scoring system that rewards user activity. Points are calculated based on:

  • Jobs posted and their reach
  • Profile views and likes
  • Chat activity and engagement
  • Overall platform participation

GradPoints are for recognition purposes only and have no monetary value. We reserve the right to adjust point calculations and reset points if abuse is detected.

Intellectual Property

Platform Content

GradLink and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

User Content

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant us a license to use, display, and distribute it on the Platform. You represent that you have rights to all content you post.

Trademarks

"GradLink" and related logos are trademarks. You may not use these without our prior written permission.

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  1. Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
  2. Violate any local, state, national, or international law
  3. Infringe on intellectual property rights
  4. Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
  5. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  6. Interfere with security features
  7. Engage in any data mining or similar activity
  8. Frame or mirror any part of the Platform

Disclaimers and Limitations

Service "As Is"

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

No Employment Guarantee

GradLink is a platform for connecting students and graduates with job opportunities. We do not guarantee employment, interviews, or specific outcomes.

Third-Party Content

We are not responsible for third-party content, job postings, or external links. Users interact with third parties at their own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GradLink shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GradLink, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Platform
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your content or conduct on the Platform

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Platform shall be resolved through:

  1. Initial contact with our support team
  2. Good faith negotiation
  3. Binding arbitration if negotiation fails

You waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Platform immediately ceases
  • Your content may be deleted
  • You remain liable for any obligations incurred prior to termination

You may also delete your account at any time through your profile settings.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
